Drone Photography for Conservation: Opportunities & Obstacles

Thu, Apr 25, 2024
LIVE at 3:00 PM ET / 2:00 PM CT / 1:00 PM MT / 12:00 PM PT

Presented by Charlie Reinertsen

In recent years, drones have given photographers the ability to craft new landscape-level visual stories. By showing us places and perspectives we may have never seen, these images can inspire conservation efforts. However, drone photographers must be well-versed in federal, state and private regulations, and there are many people who would prefer drone-free skies when exploring the natural world. Photographer and Expedition Leader Charlie Reinertsen discusses the opportunities and challenges of drone photography, using examples and images from the northern peatlands of Adirondack Park in eastern upstate New York.
